Meet our new Executive Director

Davis House Welcomes Brent Hutchinson

After a comprehensive executive search, we are thrilled to have Dr. Brent Hutchinson join our team as the new Executive Director! He began his official duties May 4, and will be on-site at the Franklin location starting May 18.

Born and raised in Lawrence County, Kentucky, Brent brings nearly 25 years’ executive experience in cross sector leadership, team development, program implementation, frontline fundraising and community development. He earned the PhD in Leadership Studies from Dallas Baptist University, the Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Certificate from Duke University, and was named an Obama Fellow by the Barack Obama Foundation, one of only twenty civic innovators from around the globe, in 2019.

Brent most recently served for eight years as Executive Director of the Hindman Settlement School in Kentucky, specializing in dyslexia education, foodways, and cultural heritage in rural communities. He also served as Lead Pastor for Ministry Leadership at Rolling Hills Church in Franklin, TN where he worked to help grow the church, provide counseling services, and lead the staff team from 2005-2012. In addition to these executive roles, Brent served as clinical therapist for organizations focused on wellness for children and families from across community sectors after earning a master’s degree in family studies and marriage and family therapy from the University of Kentucky. Prior to this, Brent was a student event coordinator at LifeWay Christian Resources in Nashville, a youth minister in central Kentucky, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in social science from Morehead State University.

We also look forward to getting to know his wife, Gwen, and two sons, Adam and Miles, as they settle back into the Williamson County community.

Some fun things about Brent:

  • He is an identical twin.
  • As a teenager, he was a nationally ranked 4-H poultry judge.
  • He is a first generation American, as his mother is a German immigrant. His family is from northern Bavaria, a small village called Euerdorf.
  • He loves to support and serve with Living Hope Community Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.

We are very excited for you all to meet Brent. His vision and leadership skills are a perfect match for our organization, and we look forward to working with him to continue the growth of Davis House to better serve this community.
